Hi everyone who remembers me and Hello to the new members. When I used to post regularly I felt a connection with Emily (Wendy) and would love to know how she is. If she still posts or somebody is in touch with her could you let me know.

Thank you both and I did a search (I never gave that a thought) and she is still posting so I know she's OK.
My RA has been pretty stable and the introduction of amitriptyline literally changed my life. I still have trouble with my ankles and feet but my main problem continues to be the bursitis/tendonitis in my thighs and hips. However, bearing in mind how bad I was in the early days I'm not complaining.
I don't post like I used to as my family take up most of my thinking time. My son has severe OCD and he was really ill last year. However, he is much better now and able to work. My daughter has had two rounds of IVF with no success so that is very diffiicult. I also have a 90 year old Mum who needs help not to mention one dog with heart failure, one with renal failure and another one who has fits!
I will try and get on here more often as it was such a lifesaver when I was first diagnosed in 2007.
Loof after yourselves - Brenda

Hi Brenda I have been in touch in the last few months and although struggling along with the ra other things in her life are really causing ups and downs for her. I have 2 children with mental health issues and know that life lived with an increasingly disturbed gems a couple of yrs ago really has sent the ra into free fall. Thankfully my son Michael is working positively on life things and has managed to sit gcses which I thought he might never do. I am ever so proud of him. Gems is live in therapeutic boarding now and although terribly painful for me, it's been the very best possible option for our special young lady. Bernie is 3 and full of the bouncy joys of being a 3 yr old who is adored by her brother and sister and the wider universe! My ra isn't behaving or able to be treated so I am fitting in lots of things before the agony induced stop bites too firmly to ignore. Much love Jenni xx how to be a velvet bulldoser

Hi Jenni
I think of you often and also the children and wondered how you are all getting along. Good for Michael and hopefully he will understand himself more as the years go on and work around his problems. We had a dreadful time in 2010 with our son and for months he wouldn't even leave the house. As I've said before, he had a settled upbringing so theoretically has no reason to suffer from a mental condition but he does. Strangely enough at the same time he was ill my cousin's daughter was also ill. My mother and her father are brother and sister so we presume it's something 'in the family'. Anyway they are both doing well and have learnt to cope with their problems so hopefully Michael will. Regarding Gemma, it's good to hear that she's receiving the help she needs after you fought so hard for her.
I can't believe that Bernice is three. Doesn't time fly. My daughter is also hoping for a miracle baby but so far nothing has happened. We've had lots of disappointments but thankfully she soon bounces back and seems determined not to give up. A couple near here gave up IVF after several unsuccessful attempts and have now adopted twins from Russia. They have a boy and girl and they're gorgeous.
If you do hear anything from Emily please tell her I asked after her. I just felt a connection with her as she sounds so lovely.
Love Brenda

Hello lovely Brenda, what a wonderful surprise to come on and see a post for me from you, so pleased. We were both diagnosed at similar times i think back in 2007! You often went to Florida, have you been anywhere nice lately?
Good to hear the RA is stable, shame the bursitis is still playing up! Am pleased to hear your son is making progress and even gone to work, that's very promising. I feel for your daughter, such a difficult and sad thing to cope with. A very good website that provides much support and advice/knowledge is 'fertilityfriends', your daughter may have heard of this already but just thought i would tell you about it as it has helped me so much over the years. It sometimes helps aswell to explore alternative ways such as adoption, surrogacy, fostering etc.. so to have hope and something to work towards, just a thought.
If you like please feel free to contact NRAS and ask for my email address as it would be lovely to keep in touch.
I hope you come back on the boards and see this post.
Jenni, lovely to hear the children are all doing well (can't believe Bernie is 3!!!), must catch up soon, time just goes by so fast these days.
Much love emilyXXX.

Hi Emily
I've just logged on and I'm so glad you got my message. I've contacted NRAS and they're going to give you my email address.
My daughter has joined an infertility website and has found it helpful although sometimes disheartening. As we all know, it's only people in the same boat as ourselves that truly understand.
Looking forward to hearing from you - love Brenda
